Compliance committees are an important part of the University’s overall governance structure. Compliance committees are established under the authority of the president and the President's Council and are generally chartered by the Executive Risk Management and Compliance Committee.

The Executive Risk Management and Compliance Committee provides direction and guidance to the BYU–Hawaii compliance program and assists the President's Council in their oversight of the BYU–Hawaii compliance program. The committee focuses on ensuring BYU–Hawaii complies with significant legal, ethical, and regulator requirements.
